Payment Policy

1. Currency

Every price on this store is displayed in USD. If your account is held in another currency, your card issuer or payment provider will convert the amount at their own rate and may add a foreign transaction fee. Gutela does not control and does not receive any part of that fee.

2. Sales tax

Product prices displayed on Gutela do not include sales tax. Any tax that applies to your order is calculated at checkout based on your delivery address, and is shown as a separate line before you confirm payment. You will never be charged tax that was not visible to you at the point of purchase.

3. Accepted payment methods

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro and UnionPay, along with Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay and PayPal. Card payments are taken on our payment provider's own secure system. Choosing a wallet or PayPal takes you to that provider's sign-in, and you are returned to Gutela once the payment is confirmed.

The same methods are shown as payment marks in the footer of every page and directly beneath the Add to Cart button on every product page. Not every option appears to every shopper — Apple Pay, for example, only appears on Apple devices, and some wallets depend on your browser — but every method listed above is available to every customer through the standard card checkout. If a method is not listed here, we do not take it, and anything we add in future will be added to this list and to both sets of payment marks.

4. When you are charged

Payment is authorized and captured at the moment you complete checkout. You will receive an order confirmation by email immediately afterwards. If you do not receive one within a few minutes, check your spam folder before contacting us — and if it is not there, email support@gutela.com so we can confirm whether the order registered.

5. Security

This store runs over an encrypted SSL connection, shown by the padlock in your browser's address bar. Your payment details are entered on our payment provider's own secure system, not on Gutela, and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, a transaction reference, the last four digits of the card where one was used, and the billing details needed to fulfill your order. Gutela never sees or stores your full card number.

6. If your payment fails

A declined payment is almost always your bank or payment provider rather than us. Check that the card number, expiry date and billing address you entered are correct, and that the card is authorized for online purchases and has not expired. If you are paying through a wallet or PayPal, check the funding source behind it. If it still fails, try another method or contact your bank directly. We cannot see why a payment was declined, and we are not told the reason.

7. Pricing errors

We take care to price everything correctly, but errors occasionally occur. If an item is listed at an incorrect price, we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund you in full. You will be told before anything is dispatched, and you will never be charged more than the price you agreed to at checkout.

8. Refunds

Refunds are returned to the method you paid with. Where an item comes back to us, the refund is issued 5-7 business days after your return is received and inspected. Where no return is involved — an order you cancelled before dispatch, a parcel confirmed lost, or an order we cancelled because of a pricing error — the refund is issued within 5-7 business days of us confirming it. In both cases your bank or payment provider then needs a further 5-10 business days to post the funds to your account. Full details are in our Return & Refund Policy.
